I thought from that the $/£ rate under the gold standard was exactly $4 to £1. But from that graph, I was wrong.
And the euro traded at 1.50 to the pound around its inception, were at 1.15 now and will probably reach parity soon...Thats why a dublin bus driver earns as much as a Belfast accountant in real terms.
As will the dollar, and you know what comes next.
I'm all for bus drivers earning as much as accountants. Nothing wrong with that.
If you look at skill then it makes sense

Most bus drivers can add up
