Have we ever had a worse run against a side than we currently have against the Jacks?

    The short answer is lots.

Since their promotion to the Championship we've won 4 league games against Swansea out of 15, losing 12. Since our 1-0 win in the Premier League, we've won 4 points from 8 games against them, scoring only 1 goal those 8 games. It's a shocking run, but by no means the worst.

Our all time worst ever league run against a team is failing to beat Bristol City in 23 successive attempts, drawing only 6, between Feb 1971 and Dec 2007 (though we had success against them in the cup and playoffs). We followed that up by winning 12 of the next 22 derbies against them.

Our next longest winless league run came against Blackpool, from Oct 1988 to Oct 2002, when we failed to win in 19 league encounters, though only lost 10.

We've had runs of only 1 win in 15 against Preston, Newcastle, Hull, Bristol Rovers, West Brom, Man City, Arsenal, Ipswich, Palace, Peterborough, West Ham, Spurs, Portsmouth and Huddersfield.

Even our horrendous 8 game run against Swansea is by no means the worst in our history.

We've drawn 1 and lost 11 of our last 12 against Newcastle, including a run of 10 successive league defeats to them. We've won 1 point in our last 8 to Chelsea. Palace were a bogey side of ours from the late 70s, where we managed 3 draws in 12 winless attempts.

Our recent scoring exploits against the Jacks are creating a club record, though. Over an 8 game spell against the same team, we've scored only 1 goal twice in our history - our current record against Swansea and our record against West Ham from April 1979 to Feb 2004. We put that record right by winning 4-1 against West Ham at Ninian Park.

If you add the fact we haven’t beaten them by two clear goals since the 60’s you can really grasp how bad things are on the pitch when we play them. In general, all swansea people have a chip on their shoulder about cardiff like stuff, ever since we got capital status bla bla, swansea is a dump etc and gets little from the welsh government. On the football pitch it works for them it would seem at this level.
In the lower leagues it was def more even, like it is at u21/u18 level where we win regularly.
