Thinking about it you could well be right. I always associate Houghton and Butler (both Rotherham players) as later scoring a shed load of goals for Hull along with Wagstaff and Chilton

No, it’s Houghton, he scored a hat trick for Rotherham against us and ended his career with Scunthorpe.

Greg Halford is right for the 10s question, but it wasn’t Lawrence and Revell.

Both correct, I’m determined not to do a Trevor Womble question

Sometimes you've got to give the people what they want. Brian Gayle for the 90s.

You could have had David Gwyther as an
answer for 2 quizzes on the trot.

Little known fact, Gwyther was employed as Watford's Harry the Hornet mascot for a few seasons in the nineties, so it's a hat trick.

He also owns Bob Stokoe's cup final trilby having bid £1,973 for it at a charity auction, if you fancy making it four.

    Lewis Wing for the 20s

    Mark Rhodes for the 80s?

An old uncle of mine had a saying "Hull, Hell and Halifax" which he'd use when he was surprised at something - I never asked or worked out why he used it, but, given Gwyther's Halifax connections, there seems to be sufficient grounds for a fifth question on him.

Wing and Rhodes are right, think that's the lot answered now.

I remember that phrase too but it was ” From Hull, Hell and Halifax Good Lord deliver us”. No idea of its derivation but not complimentary to Hull or Halifax or possibly even Hell

Thanks Enoch, I must have been under ten at the time, so my recollecton might be wrong, but I have a vision of him slowly and quietly saying “Hull, Hell and Halifax” while gently shaking his head in surprise or bafflement.
