My grandparents house had no electricity, plumbed water or toilet. The water came out of a stream above the house, the sewage went into the same stream below the house. There were lots of houses on the stream
Best toast ever, inch thick slab, on a toasting fork over an open fire. I think beans only existed in Western movies at the time. Main food source was rabbit & pheasant
