    upvc back door

Off topic i know but "have you tried asking ccmb?"

Any recommendations for a upvc specialist / locksmith that can open and fix a broken lock on a upvc door?

Google search just not doing it anymore with all the paid and optimised pages.

Thanks in advance as if i cant get it opened asap i'll be out 10 times a day taking the old dog out for a wee.

    second question

How much is a fair price to pay for supply and fit upvc back door.?

    Bugger, sussed already

No, just wondered where Ribeye lived as it would be cheaper I assume to get a local company.

Repairing locks on a UPVC door is very expensive; at least it was for me via a local locksmith.

If it's just the barrel lock that needs changing it's relatively simple. If it's the rest of the locking mechanism then get a professional.

    Re: upvc back door

I bought a lock to fix my back door about 15yrs ago because it was too expensive to call a locksmith out. I was quoted silly money even back then so I spent about 100 quid and fixed it myself.

I bet you Tony Jeffries knows someone. He used to be in that line of work.

Definitely don’t use Vellacine, robbing bastards

If it’s the locking system, just unscrew it and take it to Kings Solutions.

If you’re in the Cardiff area, drop me a text. That’s not saying I’ll be able to do it, but can give you some advice

    Re: upvc back door

We got locked out (lost key) and had to drill the lock to get in (helped by a neighbour)
I contacted my house insurance which has emergency cover they sent someone out to fix it.
I know it's not really free because your premium goes up but we got a new lock.

I'd hate someone bashing my back door in.

    Re: upvc back door

Thanks all for the replies. Door mechanism f****D and shut closed. Used Curley Locks recommended by a upvc repair guy and did a good job. Cost wasn't cheap £250 for 2 hours labour and new lock. Lock wasn't standard as the door wad pretty old.
