Thread: Callum Robinson

    Callum Robinson

His celebration with the fans and his team mates, giving his shirt to that young lad, something he will remember forever, well, i ****ing love all that! Forget the serious shit for a minute, when you get wrapped up in that kind of emotion (as a city fan) it's as good as it gets! Well done Callum, lovely to see after such a poor run. Happy

Allsop showed a turn of pace to join him at the other end. He'd just been down 'injured'

NG's sprint to the bench after scoring was fun to watch too. Good night all round. Hopefully will spark us into life a bit for the battle ahead.

There was a spirit about the team that has been lacking all season.

Who was that little ginger bloke who Ng seemed to pick out for his celebration? The new dead ball specialist?

    Adrenaline is a wonderful thing....

The way the whole team and staff celebrated gives me hope. They could have easily gone through the motions, blame the manager carousel and move on in the summer but it's clear to me that they want it almost as much as we do. Happy days

I’m happy for him that he scored I’m really hoping this will spur him on to score more now. The lads must be bouncing tonight!

I don’t think their effort can be questioned all season

I agree, I would have thought there's been a fair bit of professional embarrassment felt among the squad in recent weeks - Robinson may also have felt he owed the club and supporters a goal after his penalty misses.

Also agree that the celebration for the second goal was a good sign even if I get that it's easy to give the impression of being a united squad after you've just won.

Definitely. The togetherness surprised me, actually. I was pleased to see it though.

As others have said I was struck by the celebrations of both goals. That wasn’t a team that doesn’t care from the keeper to the strikers.

Hopefully the manager is instilling a spirit, and that can be the 12th man to keep us up

The emotions shown during both goal celebrations were clearly far deeper than what you'd normally witness after a goal. Like others in this thread have said, I was very pleasantly surprised at the 'togetherness' of everyone involved.. players, coaches, and those back on the bench.

One swallow doesn't make a summer, however, what we witnessed is clearly a group who DO care!

A pivotal moment, there was real joy, and you could see some relief and the confidence starting to flow back through the team.

More than the result I found the togetherness in the squad grounds for optimism.

Yet some people think you need a Warnock type to "hype up" the lads

The “effort”, “passion”, “commitment “, and “togetherness”….has been there all season. It’s just the goals that have been missing, we scored couple last night…hence the teams reactions.

Not sure about his celebration, i made a dash for a quick for a quick **ss as his goal went in, it was the epitome of how to play when you have a lead, just go and get another and stop inviting them on with 10 players in the box not having a clue who's marking who with the inevitable errors, it was an awful game but if all remaining games are as awful with the same outcome then the previous games are forgotten, have only just seen NG's goal again as no replays on now TV coverage, what a tremendous strike and as for Robinsons goal, i would think that everyone watching was expecting the cut back ball, and that's after he didn't do the usual routine and take it to the corner, a very clever play from him.

The fella behind me was screaming “take it into the corner, take it into the corner”

I detest this aspect of the game and I’m glad Robinson scores a wonderful goal, hence leaving the fella to start leaping about like a mad banshee (yes I know it’s a woman, that’s what he was like)

If he takes that to the corner, he wastes about 10 seconds then it gets hoofed into our box and we probably draw knowing us. Saying that I thought we defended really well last night.

It was really clever, and also cutting in again when you’re expecting the cross.

I like Robinson, quality player and he cares. Cared too much against the jacks!

For me he’s our best player hands down.

I can't argue with that at the minute, he's certainly got some ability and passion about him and that'll go a long way obviously.

He's probably more likely than most to make something happen, but it's the lack of creativity around players like him that's the obvious worry.

Hopefully things get better going forward.

    Without a doubt
