Yes, the EFL statement seemed to rely on precedent rather than rules, saying it was aiming for consistency with other abandoned games. Hard to envisage another outcome, best not to get too distracted by it.

Okay so they’ve gone with the precedent and assessed it on its merits. We can argue semantics all day, we still need to get over it.

But they cheated by deliberately making no attempt to clear the water from the pitch and in fact adding to it.

Everyone knows if the rules were the points are awarded to the winning team, there would have been significantly more effort, so they were cheating.

It's bad Karma, hopefully, they'll lose half their players to injury and get relegated!
