Rooted and Alnwick seem to go hand in hand

Fair result (not sure why the Cambridge goal at the start of the second half was disallowed). But more importantly a very useful test.

I like the way the team are trying to play - most of the time. It seems to be football! There is even rotation and movement. Crazy!

A few were putting their hands up in the first half - but then were right off it at the start of the second.

Bulut will have learned a lot from that.

Tanner with an assist, he's having a good preseason

Thought we played well in the first half, but our supremacy was not reflected with goals or even that many close misses. Cambridge changed their team at half time whereas we kept our starting eleven on for an hour and maybe they were a bit tired having not played more than forty five minutes before now - Cambridge had a goal disallowed for some reason while they were on top, but we settled again when we changed our team on the hour mark.

Callum Robinson scored a simple goal with fifteen minutes left from Ollie Tanner’s cross, but Cambridge equalised in added time with a soft goal that Romeo and Alnwick could have done better with.

Thought Colwill looked as good in a City side as he’s done in ages, Ojo and Simpson both played well (seriously!) and Keiron Evans added to the good impression he’s made so far. Of the replacement team, Eli King looks like he could become a centreback and passed a few defensive tests with flying colours and Ebou Adams didn’t do badly, but, just like in the other two games, we played better in the first half.

Bit harsh for a player that's been out for so long

Had he suffered a leg/ankle injury, I'd agree with you. However, he really should be 'up to speed' with the rest of the squad by now.
I was expecting him to bust a gut to show what we've missed, but it hasn't happened yet.

You can’t judge anything from friendlies. They don’t put any effort into league games let alone warm ups.
