Do you think he'll play? I'd be amazed if he's in the squad. Much rather him on the pitch on Saturday.

No I dont, but I dont really agree with that, I think you should always play your strongest team in every game ( maybe give a few fringe players a run out at 1/2 time )

But as I said, shifted a few more tickets by giving him a 1/2

I'd maybe keep Alnwick in goal as he's not had a run of games for a while.
Also, I wonder with Ojo not making the squad for Leeds if he's destined for a move?
Bench wise it would be nice to see Ashford get some recognition of his 4 vs Haverfordwest.

    I'd go for....

    Alnwick
    Romeo, Benj, Simpson, Collins
    rino, colwill, adams
    Robinson Meitie Tanner
Subs: Luthra, Etete, Bagan, Evans, J Colwill, Ashford, Semenyo, Campbell ....dunno how many we're allowed!

I dont think we can risk Alnwick so I think Luthra should start.

Id also play Grant. With Robinson hopefully back if say after yesterday his place should be most at risk.

    Luthra Romeo Benj Simpson Collins
Rino Adams Colwill Grant Meite Tanner.

Looks good to me, I'd go with this but maybe have Evans starting.

Looks good to me....except I would give Luthra a chance to get experience...and NOT RISK Alnwick getting injured. Also would not have Campbell anywhere near!!

Re: CARDIFF CITY v COLCHESTER UTD: Match thread

    Erol Bulut pre match comments:

“It’s their first official game of the season, because their league game was postponed, so I think they will play with their main team, their main eleven.

”For us, some players didn’t play [on Sunday] and were on the bench, so we will use them, but have a mix in our eleven. Of course, we want to win and continue in the Cup.

“Some youngsters, they will be in the squad and some in the first eleven. How they played in pre-season matches, I was satisfied with some of them, so we will see them on Wednesday.

“I think, for them (Colchester), it will be a good game. They will take it seriously, like us. We will try to go to Round Two with our young guys and a mix.

“Of course, Colchester will want to show themselves against a Championship team. It will not be easy, but even with our young players, we want to get into the next round.

"For our young guys, it’s a chance to show themselves in the game.

“For us, the most important is the Championship, of course, but in the Cup, we want to continue to go as far as we can go. It’s always good to have a win and we’re looking forward to it.

“This will be perfect for us, two games at home in-a-row. With the fans behind us, they supported us great in Leeds, so on Wednesday, they will also support the team. On Saturday, the house will be full and hopefully, we can make them happy after the game.”

Need to get sprint on if we are going to sign a keeper for game tonight. I presume it's too late now.

Cardiff City XI: Alnwick; Romeo, Benjamin, Simpson, Collins; Rinomhota, Sawyers; Evans, R. Colwill, Tanner; Etete.

Subs: Luthra, Bagan, Semenyo, Adams, J. Colwill, Ojo, Wigley, Ashford, Ugbo.

Any likely looking dominant midfielders in the stands with a draft contract in their hands?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v COLCHESTER UTD: Match thread

Yeah lets see what the young players can do.

The Jacks put out a very strong team last night.

Weve gone the other way but I dont think our squad is strong enough to risk key players.

Seems like the same kind of set up. My concern is Sawyers in the middle two.
