Good press conference from the boss talking about winning mentality. I fancy us on Saturday after that midweek performance.

Given the injuries to our wide men and potentially Robinson I'd be interested to see the attackers put out for this game, personally think Tanner has done enough to warrant a start.

    Alnwick

    Ng
    McGuinness
    Goutas
    Collins

    Siopis
    Ralls
    Ramsey

    Tanner
    Ugbo
    Robinson (If fit, otherwise Grant)

    2-0 Ipswich.

    2-0 Ipswich.
Robinson is injured so it will probably be Grant.

    Could Runarsson keep the shirt?

Probably not yet as Alnwick has played well, but as the season goes on I think he'll take the number one position.

A proper Manager assesses the players and picks his best team, not afraid to drop players in form playing well, if there is a better player available, Well done Bulut. Meite is a bit of a surprise but Bulut has been watching them in training!

Was more confident of a good result before Bowler and O’Dowda were both ruled out.

Still think we can do it. Ipswich are all fart no knickers.

Don’t think he starts Tanner quiet yet. Think we’ll see Grant - Meite - Ugbo.

If Grant plays well, I fancy us to get at least a draw. It’s a bit if though.

Not heard that one, all fur coat no knickers is what my gran used to say.

After Bham I have no idea where he is going to go with team selection but I think we will get at least a point, probably 3.

Before playing Leeds last weekend they'd won 37 from 39 home points and hadn't lost at Portman Road in 22 games yet that somehow makes them all fart in your eyes??

I wonder if we might see 3 at the back as it seemed pretty effective against brum. Maybe....

    romeo ng mcG Goutas Collins
    Rambo Siopis Ralls

Tough place to go 1-1 draw.

I’d be happy with a draw.
Not a place that we get many points from.
    2-2

Re: IPSWICH TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

I don’t think an EFL cup win at Birmingham with 10 changes has any baring in this one. We rarely do well in East Anglia, even in good times. Ipswich are flying and have an excellent home record. A point here would be quite a result.

At least Simpson won't be making a late appearance and cost us a point. We have the talent and the makings of a good team. Hope for a win but would settle for a draw with no injuries or red cards, given the upcoming home fixture. Sadly, Covid has caught up with me so have had to cancel our Suffolk excursion. Will be there in spirit.

Tanner and Rúnarsson start, Grant and Meite play and Panzo on the bench.

Re: IPSWICH TOWN v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Having now looked at the highlights again.....with attention to the Ipswich goals:
1st - McGuinness missed challenge....I read threat keeper maybe should have done better as it was centre goal, but it was a powerful shot going away from him. No blame for me..
2nd - Keeper should be stopping that at near post.
3rd - again, keeper should be commanding his near post.....should have gathered it.

Like others, I don't think Alnwick should have been dropped until he deserved to be. As for Bulut's comments regarding Tanner, I hope that his tenure does not get defined for his remarks. Tanner had a very decent half, while his replacement was conspicuous by not doing very much, and Meite HAD to score from Tanner's pinpoint cross. What did he do wrong to be hauled off?

Why does Ralls need to come off early....we miss his influence when not present.

On a more positive note, good to see Collins and Grant having really good games, and surely when we next get a two goal lead the players will steel themselves to make sure it is not thrown away again.
