Wow that’s brilliant. Did not see that coming and kills the small part of my brain that thought Rubin was starting to hate it here.

It is also down to the club to create an environment where they can flourish, rather than stand still. So many of our players get here and stay the same or regress. You can’t tell me that is every single player’s fault.

It is great news about these two. Joel getting a 5 year deal is a serious statement about how good they think he is going to be.

I can't and know there's some real bad management around but I look back at the next big things and very few of them rose back up the ranks.

Spot on. Those idiots who say 'if they were good enough they would be in the team' or
'survival of the fittest' are talking rubbish. The development of young football players simply doesn't work like that.

Look how Ajax slowly integrate their ypung world class players (Eredivise is probably a lower standard than the Championship) or how slowly Man City have integrated Foden, the greatest British talent since Rooney.

It just needs brave management, rather than the short-termism (sic), save my arse, blame everyone else style that is so prevalent with modern managers (though hardly surprising given their lack of job security). That's why I always had a little bit of sympathy for Morrison.

The new contracts for the Colwill's is brilliant news and is a rare display of prudence and common sense by the club. Long may it continue.
