That is a superb win. Yes we got outplayed for most of it but some unreal performances from a lot of players out there today.

Never in doubt, great 3 points from an indifferent performance about time we nicked a game against the run of play.

Looks like we won purely because of Collins Goutas McGuinness and Alnwick and a massive slice of luck.

We’ve had our own fair share of bad luck this season so cancels some out.

Glad of the points. Sunderland will do well this season.

Was just about to post the same.....Etete also did well when he came on.....huge miss by Tanner...just needed to stop and take it around the keeper....

How on earth was Allsop playing last year ahead of Alnwick???

Does anyone know if Alnwick is Newcastle or Sunderland fan? Played for both as a youth. Top performance today

Fantastic result. What a week, 9 points from 9. A derby win and two clean sheets.

Yup, and the rest of them didn't stop working. Without that effort we would have been beaten. Great win, loads of character on display, even without the performance. If we are to progress this season then it's going to have to be like that sometimes. Can't fault the honesty out there today. It'll do for me. Collins is a player.

Utter rubbish. The one player in our midfield today who can run and pass the ball at the same time and gives 100% every game.

What a fantastic result, our defence played so well and Jak must have had his best game in a Cardiff shirt.

A real gritty performance, everyone worked their socks off

Ng had the hardest job with Clarke and I thought he was class.

I’m starting to prefer Etete to Ugbo.

We did alright, tried to play, we weren't just lumping balls forward, we kept our shape really well in the defensive area, Sunderland lacked that little bit of quality, and they're a bit soft, like plenty of championship sides. Hopefully that's something we can capitalise on. We earned that win.

Daylight robbery but we have had a number of tough away games where we haven't got what we deserve, today finally the luck turned.

They are an energetic side and got tired, a lot of sloppy passes in the final 10/15 minutes which they weren't doing earlier, also their commentary team didn't mention it but the corner was a sloppy one to give away too.

Perfectly set up for us to lose at home to Rotherham now.
