Tolls - would you welcome them

Hypothetically, would you welcome road tolls for the A470 at Coryton and Bryn Glas tunnels ?

Has to be a good idea to cut pollution Shirley ?

not keen on toll roads at all.

my preference would be to make public transport a lot cheaper and more convenient

As more and more drivers switch to electric vehicles, the govt has to find a way to raise monies lost from falling VED receipts. Tolls, ulez, pay per mile won't be popular whatever they choose.

It's that simple, frequent clean public transport coupled with frequency and good route availability. What's there not to like ?

Pay per mile will be the next thing to consider, sounds a great idea for the future of the environment, not so sure about the future of the economy for Wales though

When is this long overdue Metro system coming? All big cities have one.

Don't know if the Metro will ever be finished..and I don't mean that in a negative way..transport networks are rarely completed cos their are always new lines etc to do.

The south Wales metro is wholly positive but it is largely a marketing exercise to rightly promote the existing rail network we have which is pretty good compared to most cities. Of course, the new trains and electrification are a real benefit too but there isn't really that much in terms of new lines and stations. The big deal perhaps is a station(s) in east Cardiff, which has none.

As mentioned, the promotion of working from home by the WG and councils directly undermines the viability of public transport. That needs to change for it to fulfil its potential or reach the kind of frequencies or service that were promised.

Without it I think we may see a pretty big realignment of public transport provision in the secondary UK cities (like Cardiff) in coming years, and it won't be positive.

The National Transport Delivery Plan makes me think the charging plans are in place

In France one pays Tolls for stretches of road with no hold-ups....good road surface etc......and if there is an accident it is dealt with quickly without shutting both directions for hours....(and of course no road tax in France).
