I do have this definite memory of being about halfway up the Grange End with my Dad seeing Mel Charles head past the keeper right in front of us, but as I don’t remember anything else about the afternoon, I think I’m indulging in wishful thinking and telling myself those things happened.

Played just 3 games in all - all 3 for City - as he was called up when they had an injury crisis. He's 81 now, so we can't ask him to come back from Bermuda for this one..He certainly doesn’t

Always remember Jack Taylor would walk out of the tunnel with the ball in his hand (held with 4 fingers & thumb) one of the very few people who could do it

Just to add that I didn't get the City bug at my first game, that happened with my second one when I went to see a game under floodlights (Welsh Cup Final against Bangor) - I struggle to get my head around the fact that they'd only been in place for three years before my first match.
