Thread: India v England test match.

    India v England test match.

The three specialist spinners picked by England take five wickets between them as India pile up a first innings lead of 190 and part timer Joe Root takes four - someone like Robert Croft would have played no end of test matches these days given how bare the spin bowling cupboard is.

tobw, i think a lot has to do with county cricket not being played at the time of year spinners would be more involved as you say croft would be on the team sheet every game

I find it quite depressing that this series has started and yet it appears to be hardly get a mention on tv. I’m assuming it’s on BT Sport.

I must admit I’m enjoying the under 19 World Cup on Sky this week. Scotland are putting up a tremendous effort against South Africa so far this morning. 265-5 off 49 overs. Hope the lad Gould gets his ton in the final over.

Two great games going on this morning. India need 231 to beat England after Ollie Pope,s magnificent 196 and the West Indies need two more Australian wickets to pull off an incredible win. The Aussies need 31 to win themselves and, maybe decisively, Steve bloody Smith is still in.

I'd love the Windies to win but can see Steve Smith hitting the winning runs and reaching 100 at the same time.

Rohit out, 65-3 - after me having a go at English spinners yesterday, I must say fair play to Hartley who has batted really well twice and now taken the wickets of three specialist batsmen in a high pressure situation.

Haven't really kept up with the 2 matches this week. But the performances of pope and Joseph must surely be right up there with some of the very best ever. Absolutely unbelievable impacts they've had.

These two are presenting a big problem. That winning score for India is creeping down, need a breakthrough.

Love the way the commentary goes one way then the other.

Still fancy England, especially as India starting to swing the bat.

    Compelling viewing.

Yup, looks like that will be it.

Pleased for Hartley as he recorded the record worst figures for a debutant in test cricket in 1st innings.

darren goughs commentary is classic , india should ask for the extra half hour cos englands bowlers are knackered, take a wicket england should ask for the extra half hour cos the bowlers are in great rythm

You really have to choose your words carefully as a cricket commentator.
