Would like to see Goutas out for this game, wouldn't even be opposed to both him and Ng being dropped. They're stalwarts of a defence that haemorrhages goals, and cheap ones at that.

Robertson and Kanga should start if fit enough - in particular Robertson. We have to move away from this forced Ralls-Ramsey-Siopis nonsense.

    Regardless of lineup, 3-0 Burnley.

I agree with you regarding the Ralls-Ramsey-Siopis midfield. I'm fairly confident that Robertson will come into the side Saturday, probably alongside Ramsey and Siopis.

I don't feel Kanga is fit enough yet.
I'd like Bulut to be bold (Bulut/bold?.... yeah, I know ) and reward Reindorf with a start. Other clubs take a gamble on promising young players, it's time we did.

I'd be more than happy if we gave Ng the day off and started Kpakio, just to see how it goes, we're early doors we can afford to do that sort of thing. Add on Giles or Bagan to that at LB as well so we can push O'Dowda up the pitch.

I'd really have no issues with a nearly completely different defence from Southampton.

Probably right here, also agree with Reindorf. Anyone but Meite starting as centre forward, would rather Alnwick given a David James style run out.

Kpakio would be a good shout. It's a bit of an odd one, because we're talking about dropping a player who has cleaned up all the end of season awards. However, as I've said before... football is all about the 'here and now' and I don't think we've looked strong at right back since the tail-end of last season.
I would like to see O'Dowda moved further forward, but I'm not convinced by Bagan in the left-back slot.

no way I'd Reindorf going to start a championship match.

It'll be Meite with Kanga to come on most likely

Your opening sentence is a bit unclear. Did you mean there's no way you'd start Reindorf or did you mean to say there's no way you envisage Bulut starting him?

it was supposed to say - no way is Reindorf going to start a championship match.
Predominantly meaning Bulut isn't going to start him, he didn't even start him against Bristol Rovers

He was right not to start him against Bristol Rovers. We needed to see what Kanga could offer, Reindorf was never going to get the nod before him.
However, having now witnessed the impact that both players had on the game, I would argue that Reindorf is the more likely of the two to trouble the Burnley defence.
Let's be honest, it's a game that few will expect us to get anything from. I think we need a roll of the dice.

No shame in Bulut being pragmatic about the likely result and throwing some of the younger boys out to see what they can do. Sink or swim.

This is how you unearth proper gems.

I tend to agree with this . Reindorf was very active maybe he could be an option as time goes on and he gets a bit more experience.
Having watched Meite up close he is a unit , more skilful than I previously thought . He has to start scoring goals though.

Tanner was very poor against Sunderland , perhaps there were limited options for him to press forward , but he certainly didn't put himself on the line and attack their defense.

On Tuesday he switched wings and had Colwill alongside him , he was like a different player , even although it was League one opposition , its incredibly hard to defend against pace and quick movement at any level.
WIllock and Odowda (who were very good on Saturday )on the other side and we could be terrorising defenses ....

    I live in hope ..

A month away from football fitness apparently.

It'll likely be the same lineup but Meite for Robinson

It was a little concerning that Robertson, the much vaunted "8" who drives the ball forward from deep, started Tuesday's game in that 10 role with 2 defensive midfielders behind him. Hopefully that was down to Turnbull's injury and not indicative of how Bulut wants to use him

And it shouldn't. Conte was like dynamite against Bristol Rovers over in Bristol , he wasn't so good on Tuesday night .
King has come back off loan in SPL to a great fanfare , he has a way to go as well.
Evans looked really bright when he came on .
It's great to see such a good crop of youngsters coming through, they have to be nurtured , baby steps to get the eventual rewards.

I know we have 20mph limits but it shouldn't take him that long to get here.

Is he better getting lots of game time anywhere or a bit part player here.

    It's a difficult one.

The Kieron Evans situation is bizarre.

The last time he featured in a Championship game for City was way back in November 2021. Since then, he's had loan spells at Linfield, Torquay and Gateshead.

He was out of contract in the summer, but instead of releasing him the club gave him another year's contract with the option of another year on top of that. And now they're going to send him out on loan again according to Erol Bulut yesterday.

This guy will be 23 in December. What are City hoping is going to happen? I mean, it would be brilliant is Evans could somehow develop into a Championship player at this late stage, but what are the odds on that?

Eli King is 21, either push him into first team football regularly or ship him out. Same for most of these youngsters, this 'baby steps' mentality that the club and fans have is absolutely nonsense. How do you think other clubs raise wildly inflated fees for players? Bring them through young and hopefully they shine.

Slowly blooding them in times of injury crisis/ early rounds of the cup or repeatedly sending them on loan just indicates they aren't good enough.

It shows how low things are when we're talking up a young pro who came on against Bristol Rovers and showed quick feet and enthusiasm on two occasions, and we're talking of him starting against Burnley (And that's no criticism of you or anyone else)
