Wow! It's supposed to coincide with the US Election result.
Not so, it's well worth a look and it's still available for 9 months >> ENJOY.
They were discovered under a big X that had been drawn using solar eclipses.
It's weird isn't it, because at once it answers one of the great questions of mankind that has been posed by millions of people fo thousands of years and goes to the heart of many religious theories.
Ob the other it just seems inevitable and not entirely exciting that there's a few miserable bacteria living in squalor on some shithole planet somewhere.
I think I'm probably more interested in those funny looking fish on the very bottom of the deepest oceans
And that's only what we can currently observe in a FINITE universe; some astronomers believe the Universe to be INFINITE; in which case, not only would an infinite number of intelligent lifeforms 100% exist elsewhere but, also an infinite number of each of us here on Earth would also logically exist.
An appendage to my last post purely for our friend James Wales;
Just think...an INFINITE number of Sludges! Ecstasy!!!
Sorry I'm unable to provide link....
"Simon Holland who has worked on documentaries for the BBC and NASA- funded projects, said that an Oxford-backed program searching for extraterrestrial signals has quietly identified 'non-human intelligence on our galaxy ' The signal, a five hour long burst of radio waves, appeared to eminate from Proxima Centauri. The Oxford team has confirmed they are analysing the signal but they have not revealed the likely source"
"They are looking for details, hence the delay in publishing the news", said Holland. Astronomers first detected it on April 2019'.
I think it'll probably be another of those sensationalist non stories but who knows? I live in hope.
However, I do believe, if not this one now, a story like this will actually be proven true sometime in the future.
It's sadly ironic that we can put men on the moon and find out so much about the universe but any beings receiving any signals from us would have no idea what a frightful mess humanity is in on this planet. It may be that by the time any such signals are received by other beings we have made ourselves extinct.
Serious question, if they do find life elsewhere and that life is wearing a red Cardiff City shirt, what would everyone's thoughts be?
I've always been vociferously anti re-brand but I would acknowledge he had a point about reaching new markets in that scenario.
I don't think he had a point at all. We would have been up against Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid etc. and our little offering would pale by comparison. These days we would be behind Brentford, Middlesbrough and Bristol City...yuk!
Anyway, aliens on other planets may not experience colour as we do. For example, red might be experienced in the same way we hear a fart down here
