Loved today, the grit, determination, Alnwick’s saves etc. Maybe going over the top because I can’t for the life of me remember any other favourite scoreless draws but having just got in that’s how I feel.

It does show team spirit and grit.
Not in the slightest, these lads, and they are young lads, have had over a year of an oppressive Bulut managership, the shackles of that recent era are being shed every game little by little, or perhaps even quicker. It’s a release of emotions, both on and off the pitch, it’s a welcome bonding between players & fans. Long may it continue.
Our two promotions to the Premier League were confirmed by 0-0 draws that were all about the occasion as they were both crap games.
I was too young to be there, but City 0 Sporting Lisbon 0 to knock out the holders of the Cup Winners Cup in 1964 I think it was has to be a candidate for our best ever 0-0.
I think my favourite 0-0 was the one in Belgium in 2016 Euros qualification- it was a real statement of intent.
Today saw our 174th 0-0 draw in the second tier. It was our 81st away 0-0 in this division, the 175th away 0-0 draw in league and cup and the 362nd 0-0 draw in league and cup, not including Welsh competition or Europe.
12.5% of our games in the playoffs have finished goalless. This is the highest percentage per competition, followed by the 4th tier, where 11.5% of our games failed to produce a goal. We've only ever drawn 1 game 0-0 in the Football League Trophy (under its various names) and only 3 in the League cup. We've drawn 21 FA Cup ties 0-0 and have a higher rate of goalless draws in that tournament than the top 3 divisions in the league.
We've had 187 0-0 draws at home and 175 away.
If you're still reading at this point, why?
The 0-0 at Bristol City in the second leg of the 2003 play offs is my favourite
Pompey away in 1983 is my fav.
Which reminds me ...
I had just got of the boat , arrived in Cardiff and wanted a smoke . One of the lads in the Tred told me the Eastern was the place to get some smoke .
Into the Eastern I bounced , there were a few locals scattered round, chattering about murders they had committed probably. I ordered a pint and asked if (the late) Tony Debono was about .
It was like a scene from a Western (in the Eastern) everyone stopped talking , I am sure the juke box stopped as well .
The barman said , dont know him . I drank my pint , the pub was in silence the whole time .
Lesson learned .
Funnily enough I saw one of the lads from the Tred was at the game yesterday.
I was amazed , he was alive and most of the characters of that time are alive and well.
It reminded me of City of old, defended well, everything on the line but still could have nicked it at the end.
Mixed with the other results I think it’s been an excellent few weeks, I can see a way Riza wants to go, will take time and recruitment. Maybe he’s not the guy but he has more of an idea.
