Jones as DoF, Riza as head coach.
No!!!!!!!!!
I'd rather ram a very large cactus up my arse and get someone to tie it to a train in order to remove it.
I think I probably would at the moment, prefer Mark Robins though.
It does make sense to keep Riza on as he's done well and this way he doesn't get demoted back to an assistant but gets some experience around him to help.
It sounds calamitous.
Compared to the situation we have now, then yes I would.
If the option was Jones/Riza or Robbins, or Jones/Riza or (a fit and healthy) Mowbray, or Jones/Riza or van Nistelrooy () then no.
What we have now is the worst of all worlds - uncertainty, disrespect and a lack of direction.
Big Jones fan at the time but that ship has sailed.
The days of older managers taking a cushy job upstairs under the title of "Director of football" is about 20 years out of date.
Proper DOFs are every much as important as the first team manager or head coach these days.
To answer the question - no.
I don't understand why some people think that a manager and DofF would come as a package? The manager is effectively the head first team coach, whilst the DofF overseas the football operations of the whole club. There'll be some overlap in terms of player recruitment but other than that their day-to-day responsibilities are quite separate.
The longer the situation continues the more outrageous the suggestions/ recommendations
Welcome to Cardiff City FC. A Christmas farce for the ages.
Every fkr should feel free to throw in any suggestions in the expectation that they will be treated with any degree of seriousness
I'd like Russell Slade as the Director of Football, Dave Jones as the Technical Director, Mick McCarthy as the Performance Director, Steve Morison as the Club Secretary and Warnock in the shop.
Jones hates us.
