A club not doing quite as well as them would have been better but if you want to win the cup you have to beat someone at some point![]()
If they make changes and take us lightly we have a slim chance, we can't be making changes to get people minutes though, just has to be our best possible team.
5th round is when it gets interesting, I always remember the Wolves win at home with the Hasselbaink screamer.
Has to be the first team and hope Villa have their eye on their Champions League match
Dan (aka ccfcwelshlad) suggested last night that the Burnley league game is going to be rearranged for the midweek following the Villa cup tie. If that happens, the run of fixtures will be:
Hull City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (A)
All in the space of 11 days.
I very much doubt Riza will field his strongest available side in all four of those fixtures.
Chance for a decent tribute to Whitts. I’ve seen a suggestion on a Villa thread for a round of applause on 7 minutes
Id like to see us field the youngsters in the cup game. For me the priority the priority is finishing 21st in the Championship and if we can slightly improve our goal difference against Burnley by resting the first team players then thats what needs to be done. Winning trophies is nothing compared to the promise of one day finishing bottom of the Premier League again.

Don’t put a downer on the dream now, think of those Leeds and Burnely fans dreaming of that very scenario…..one day that could be us again. It’s amazing really, it really doesn’t seem that long ago we’re tonking Villa here, 3-0 up by half time was it? Half their beleaguered fans trying to be all moody and leaving….![]()
Just think of the money
Beat them comfortably in 2022 for Whitts memorial game whilst the World Cup break was on.
Decent lineup too.
Villa line-up: Marschall, Young (Bogarde 46), Chambers (Feeney 67), Mings (Konsa 46), Revan (Digne 46), O’Reilly (Raikhy 46), Nakamba (Young 67), Kamara (Luiz 46), Buendía (Ramsey 46), Archer (Bailey 46), Watkins (Ings 46).
8pm on the Friday.
Hull shifted forward 24 hours, Burnley the following midweek (Tuesday 4th March) as expected.
