Not sure which game i was watching yesterday afternoon after the Bristol game yesterday, but the commentator came up with after a pass, he has the ability to switch it from left to right.

Take these away and Alan Shearer would be mute. I say ban these phrases at once!

Quite like 6 pointer, as it does what it says on the tin.

A marquee is also the sign over the entrance to a cinema or theatre where someone could have their "name in lights".

Omer Riza has recently introduced a new one into the mix. After getting their deals over the line and the players into the building, he declared each of his new signings was hungry.

Alves looks like he could do with a good meal to be fair. I said to my lad he must be the lightest player we've had since Willo Flood. I've no problem with Riza using hungry in that sense though, surely everyone realises it doesn't just apply to food? Six-pointer the same, what's your problem with that?

A run of the mill save, tackle or cross described as “brilliant “.

And normally repeated ad nauseum by the quite awful Lucy Ward when (as in always) on co-comms.

I quite like that, as it is usually an excellent barometer for a really bad mistake.

Not quite as good as Jamie Carragher's effort....

I watched the club's video of the full ninety minutes from Saturday yesterday and, as someone who does the same thing at times on my blog, the commentator on there likes using ten words where six would do. It's been mentioned in another thread on here before, but he's a fully paid up member of the you to have add the name of the sport to the word game or match when talking about it club, as in "it's a pretty sloppy old game of football". Another one which is quite common among all of the club's commentators is when they say two players are involved in a "foot race" - why the need for the word "foot", there is no other sort of race that takes place on a football pitch.

Not only related to football, but who does almost everyone who produces on line video content have to say they are taking a "deep dive" into the subject they're going to talk about?

It seems ages ago that any of our fans last saw such and such player buying a pasty in Greggs ahead of us signing them up no wonder they were hungry 👍🏻

    I disagree with these interpretations
