People have short memories. I well remember Putin saying that the build up of Russian troops on the border in the north of Ukraine just before the invasion was simply a routine military exercise* and nothing else. That seems to have been completely forgotten by folk in the West.
No wonder he doesn't want any peace keeping troops in Ukraine after the war as they might interfere with the next invasion - sorry I mean military exercise of course.
*Not to be confused with the Special Military Operation, aka war.
