The hectic schedule didn't seem to affect the players as we won 5 and drew 2 of the last 7 of those games. The highlight of that spell would have been game number 8, when Chopra scored in injury time against the Jacks. There are several occurrances of 9 games in 28, 27, 26 and 25 days.
Some City fans might remember the 1993/94 season, where we played 9 games in 24 days between April 9 and May 3. It included 2 midweek fixtures - Huddersfield away on Tue April 19, Bournemouth at home on the Thursday, then Stockport away on the Saturday. I presume this was down to our FA cup run that season. A week after that Stockport draw we would lose 7-2 at home to Cambridge.
There are 2 examples of 9 games in 23 days.
The all-time record was set in the 1963/64 season, when we played 9 games in 22 days between 27 March and 18 April.
