The runners and riders:
The nominees are diver Tom Daley, boxer Tyson Fury, swimmer Adam Peaty, tennis player Emma Raducanu, footballer Raheem Sterling and Paralympic cyclist Dame Sarah Storey.
Raducanu, surely?
Raheem Sterling?
Can't help but think they were going to put Lewis Hamilton on the list if he'd won, but stuck Raheem on there at the last minute instead.
A joke again, no Cavendish, Jason Kenny, Josh Taylor, Joe Root & others
Yet half of a pair and a random footballer!
Still don't get why we are limited to the six candidates the BBC choose - it was far better when it was a free for all. Raducanu's got to be the favourite to win, but she's got Covid, so, given Fury's attitude towards the whole thing, there has to be a good chance that the winner won't be there to receive the award.
The BBC is full of S**t the BBC is full of S**t
Stopped watching Spoty about 30 years ago.
Sterling had a good Euros but a very quiet Premier League season. It's like they couldn't bring themselves not to have a footballer on the list.
Cavendish should be there surely.
Raducanu, definitely. Don't see why it would be Sterling.
It's a silly competition and probably just a vehicle for the media to fill airspace. Would the best sportsman or sportswoman win if they have minimal 'personality'?
The year "princess" Anne won it was the end of it for me.
