The Coaches Voice - That Swansea game last year

Not that any one of us wants to relive that game but I found it interesting nevertheless.

A good insight into how coaches approach, prepare and adapt to a particular game and how they play to the occasion. We were woefully outmatched to a man that day, hope we avoid a repeat in April 👀

I’d rather pluck my own eye balls out than watch anything related to that day.

    Watch it. It was impressive.

Particularly how they used the crowd to get on the players backs and rush us into pressing, opening up space to pass out from the back.. literally used our own fans against us to win a game

I watched it, but I still say that our response to the game with Swansea has been dreadful ever since we got relegated in 2019. We have one, lucky, win, a 0-0 draw and five defeats in which the difference in quality between the two teams has been embarrassing. Making Russell Martin out to be some sort of tactical genius misses the point that the first double had been coming for years- we make it so easy for Swansea in game after game.

    It's definitely been coming.

I don't think he is a tactical genius either, but I was impressed,he didn't just beat us because we were shite he understood what he needed to do and explained it pretty well IMO.

How anyone wanted to keep or even bring back Morison after he oversaw the worst day in my football supporting life is anyone's guess.

Since I have supported City Swansea have always been the better footballing side

We beat them by starving them of possession and sticking it up them

They don't like it up them that lot

    Dirty ferrets

Stuck in the past again. How’s our tactics working for us recently?

    It’s 2023 not 1983

He says they used Naughton to bring the ball out, if nobody pressed he just put his foot on the ball until the crowd got restless and one of the city players moved from their position and simply passed through us..

I thought the fancy football only started under Martinez in the lower leagues.

I think we are not up for it in the dressing room or on the pitch . That's what matters .

Chopras winner late on a few years back came from direct football

    People were not complaining

If you haven't got a team to play a style of football it's useless trying to play it you have to find another way.
Any manager worth their salt should realise doing the same thing and getting the same results is the definition of madness.

It was a long throw in.

It's not like the team lumped it up all game and scored.
