About £8k a week? Or is it still way more than that?
Let's say Kaba and Ralls and Kipre.
And out of the whole squad who would be on the most do you think?
I read somewhere about 12k average, with Ralls on like 17 - none of these figure are usually very reliable though
I thought the club had a self imposed wage cap of 12k a week?
I guess some players pre cap like Ralls might be on more, or panic signings like Kaba.
Too much based on performance!
This from Wales Online April 2022:
Cardiff's wage structure will alter dramatically next season. While there is talk of a wage cap in the air, one source has told WalesOnline they will operate on an average wage structure, rather than a cap, per se. It means they want the senior squad to average out at a certain number, meaning if they push the boat out too far on one player's wage it will have a negative, trickle-down effect on others. We have been told that the wage budget Cardiff have to operate on next season will place them among the lowest in the division.

Around the same time the club were feeding stories that the 2022-23 wage structure would have an average wage ceiling of £12k - with the aim of coming in well below that.
Then you get sites like this which claim an average player salary of under £10k:

But a quick glance at the list is enough to show it is bollocks.
We don't have average players.
We have good, promising and shit players.
I may have completely got this wrong but wasn’t Smithies our highest paid player a few seasons ago? He was on 30/40k a week im sure.
[QUOTE=Cardiff-Cal;5418245]I may have completely got this wrong but wasn’t Smithies our highest paid player a few seasons ago? He was on 30/40k a week im sure.[/QUOTE. . The averaging is the thing, some players being on more than £12k and some a lot less. A link was put on here recently and a friend showed it to a neighbour who is involved at the club and was told it was pretty accurate. Not sure how these figures get published
.
You've all missed the correct answer, which is "Too f***ing much!"
I seem to remember the figure 15k being bandied about when Ralls was digging his heels on renewing his contract.
Kieran Maguire (The Price of Football) covered this many times, looking at the latest figures across the championship the sustainable wage is 4k a week on average.
