Riza is the value bet surely.

Club obviously haven't got anyone lined up. Hell have 3 games next week before the international break. 4 points from those 3 games and it's his.

James Rowberry might be the left field shout, club allegedly tried to get him back in the summer...

If anyone honestly believes these initial odds markets I have some snake oil to sell you.

Its literally just book filling at this stage.

Newport were 18th in league 2 when he was sacked. Not a chance of him as the number 1. Him and ramsey maybe. Or him and riza.

Still think they've set this up for riza. Let bulut have the hardest 6 games then the next 5 are much easier on paper. If he can even get 7 points from his 5 games, or 4 points from the first 3 he will get it.

Why did they keep bulut in last week to face leeds and not give him a chance of the easier games before the international break. All feels odd.

    It's not really.

If they don't feel he's up to it then you don't allow him to potentially lose further ground in matches you may think are favourable.

With the way we are playing is any match favourable at the moment? We have done well the last couple of days to not lose ground.

No faith in them choosing a suitable replacement, problems with the club run far deeper than the manager.

A really poor list. Hopefully not the reality.

Riza has been part of this horrendous start. He shouldn't be considered.

I'm hoping behond hope that lessons have been learned and someone decent appointed.

In a way I hope Riza gets it as it will mean he has got some decent points on the board. However I think it will be more failure and a new manager finding himself further tailed off.

They should have had someone already lined up - they clearly haven't a clue.

What an absolute mess we are in.

Unless Skybet have stopped covering EFL managers, its a bit strange there isnt a Next Cardiff Manager market on Skybet yet, usually within a few hours of a sacking it appears.

I was thinking the same, maybe it's a dodgy market for them, as lower-level people in the club are bound to find out who the next Manager will be and make a few quid like Craig Williams did at the election.

The names now are probably random and just to draw in some easy money?

I can't believe they would even mention him as a candidate, but after Morison, Trollope and Hudson anything is possible.

We all know how reliable Twitter is but lots of smoke on it being Alexandersson, apparently was in Cardiff last week even before Bulut got the chop.

Wouldnt be surprised to see it and then Tan hires a bigger name for Kortrijk after the weirdness with Simic.

I know that we haven't got a chance, but I'd love to see Brian Barry-Murphy join us, with Rambo becoming a 'player'/coach.

Well, he doesn't rate Simic so that bodes well

I genuinely don't get the clamour for Barry-Murphy at all. He did a good job with the best kids in the country playing games of football that doesn't matter. Sign him up?!

If we're naming managers we haven't got a chance of getting, then I'm saying Klopp. He's available as well.

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?

It's not going to be anyone who we have to pay to release from one existing contract. It's far more likely to be someone that is either out of work at the moment, or who already works for Tan. So Riza and Alexandersson both have to be WAY out in front of anyone else, when it comes to odds.
    Riza 1/5
    Alexanderson 1/4
Hughes (please God let him be too expensive) 4/1
Page (only because they know who he is, but no thanks) 5/1
Everyone else (they don't know anybody else) 10/1

Re: Cardiff City New Manager odds - Who will it be?

Something worth considering is that Vinny seemingly has a bit of a penchant for Welsh managers and has previously expressed a preference for more Welsh/academy players in the team (See: Trollope, Morison) as well as younger managers (Harris). Bulut, Warnock, McCarthy seem to be more in line with Dalman's preferences

If Riza really has been the club's 'attacking coach' for this season he should submit his resignation, not an application for the manager's job.

Hopefully made up rumours from here in the north west are that Robbie Savage might be in the frame
