    Spades in the ground

Rachel Reeves says she wants 'Spades in the ground' for most of the projects mentioned in her speech today

    But ...

Wouldn't Industrial excavators diggers and Bulldozers be much quicker......???

Good thinking Elwood, and they will need those spades in the ground for the new euthanasia law.

Tell you one thing. The economy will have to Trump environmental concerns if she wants to speed up development, as that is by far the biggest blocker, with a case in point below.

And that's not to say we shouldn't have environmental concerns because we absolutely should, but it's hard to do both.

The silly tossers brought it upon themselves with talk of "climate emergencies", which true or not does imply a complete halt on developments.

The European countries are in a race to see who can get back to the stone age first, while the rest of the world is cracking on.

Isn't that basically what the chancellor has said? that growth will trump anything else. Didn't think you were a fan.

    Which silly tossers?
What have they brought on themselves?

It is what she's said. I don't disagree with her. I'm just saying it's far easier said than done and will be made far more difficult politically and legislatively by environmental commitments, which as I say, is at least in part understandable.

I mean stuff like this. In an emergency, you do nothing more than exit the building / put out the fire etc. You certainly don't build anything on green spaces.

It was a stupid term to use really (by most parties)
