Thread: VAR saving Liverpool

    VAR saving Liverpool

PSG outstanding, Liverpool cant get of their own half. Offside goal (thickness of a sock) disallowed & then obvious red card turned down. Liverpool look clueless.

The ref in the Feyenoord Inter game was superb, took no nonsense, great decisions, let game flow.

    Re: VAR saving Liverpool

Don't think it's a matter of Liverpool being clueless. Its more of a case of PSG being absolutely outstanding.

    Re: VAR saving Liverpool

PSG look a really good side. Liverpool should be 2 down at least. Should be a good second half if the scousers wake up.

I remember someone saying Kvaratskhelia was shite not so long ago

Really good game. PSG look something else.

It would be a shame if Allison doesn't keep a clean sheet after his performance so far.

Absolute smash and grab. Contrast the goalkeeping there with what Allison has done at the other end.

    But offside nevertheless.

The speed with which the decision was taken is something that surely we can aspire to in this country.

    FT: PSG 0 - 1 Liverpool

For those trying to follow without knowing the final score

    Re: VAR saving Liverpool

Liverpool are the jammiest team Ive ever seen. Season in season out, they always seem to get the rub of the green, both in play, and refereeing decisions.
Parisian shopkeepers put your shutters down.

    Did he score ?

Did he set someone up to score ?

    What minute was he substituted

Two of my least favourite teams too, although Liverpool do have a certain magic about them as a club that PSG totally lack

Look at the run by Elliott for the goal. What would most players or teams do in that situation? make that run, or sit in and think **** it, job done? Special mention to the PSG player who allowed Elliott to piss past him. That's why it's so important to stay switched on.

Helps when it was his first run and touch of the game to be fair... he wouldn't have been tired

The only smash and grab Ive seen thats worse than that was Celtic vs Barca. I thought taking the ineffective Salah off for Elliot made that space possible for the goal. Curtis Jones was good when he came on, I like watching him.

I noticed that Dennis during the replaying of the goal after the game and yet none of the pundits picked up on the PSG player letting Elliott run off him, as they were more concerned with talking about the run itself and the fact that the keeper should have done better.

    Strange.

It is all good and well having great attacking intent but switching off like that and letting an opposing player run free, even at the end of a game, isnt good enough at that level.

I agree. Jones definitely had a positive impact on the game.

I thought PSG lost some of their attacking edge after all the substitutions were made.

    Re: VAR saving Liverpool

Nunez on for Jota meant Liverpool had a target man and the ball seemed to stick up front more and relieve the overworked defence. Mo had a poor game but Alisson was superb. Great match to watch.

Just tuned in. Kvaratskhelia is rubbish. Going to extra-time?

I just got home from work and turned on to watch extra time after our game ended. The score shows at 0-0. Is that a new thing?
