Thread: Tesla

    Tesla

a few years ago Tesla's were seen as a bit of a lefty car, and right wing social media accounts would openly mock them and continually say how prone they were to exploding etc.

now it seems to have completely changed - the cybertruck is pretty universally thought of as a terrible car, other than by the US right who seem to love it on social media.

now many on the left wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. quite the turnaround

Mate of mine bought a new one 3 years ago for 95,000, sold it 6 months ago for 15,000, gutted for any other mug who bought one

When Teslas were the only EV option it made sense for people (with money) and a green agenda to buy one.

Now there are many many EV options, a lot of them better than Tesla, and most cheaper than Tesla.

China will dominate the world EV market soon with good quality cars at two thirds the price of Tesla.

So when Tesla is associated with nazi saluting Musk and man-child Trump (the enemy of EV) where anti Tesla peaceful protests are denounced as domestic terrorism that will bring 'hell' on those taking part - a boycott is inevitable.

85% of the public blame Musk for Tesla's share price nosedive from $480 in December to $222 this week. I feel sorry for the workers who will lose their jobs as the company shrinks - but otherwise it is all good!

This Tesla boycott is nearly full house for some lucky fella in left-wing bingo.

    Internet scandal ✅
    Fascism, fascism everywhere! ✅
    Hypocrisy about the environment ✅
Being rich enough to care ✅
    Boycott Toby, boycott! ✅

Just need a campaign to stop funding hate of any media organization having a Tesla ad and it would be as full house!

Just take me through that slowly.

Is this an argument that boycotting Tesla but driving an alternative EV (cheaper and maybe better) is bad for the environment?

Or is it a simple lift from Trumpspeak before this week when he claimed that petrol cars are better for the environment, and that 'drill baby drill' (and pass the donations Big Oil) is a green policy?

Of course now he has lent the Presidency to Musk's advertising department and claimed he is buying a Tesla (although he won't, and he can't drive one anyway - expired licence and security protocols) he is a Born Again EV advocate - as long as the vehicle has a Tesla badge!

I'm just having fun with you Jon, but I do think there is a stunning amount of hypocrisy with a lot of people who talk the talk on green issues but actually have enormous carbon footprints. In this case, clearly Tesla are now no longer the innovative green future, but part of the evil empire.

That buying it from China is glossed over as being better just adds to the hypocrisy in other respects as whatever one's reasons for dialling Musk (many valid!) the idea that you defeat that by boosting China is also head in hands level hypocrisy.

    I meant disliking Musk...not dialling!

Talking of hypocrisy- have you seen Trump and Musks tweets(?) on X about democratics being violent towards Tesla? I had to reply to both of them asking - violent just like those Jan 6th rioters you pardoned? This world is so seriously ****ed.

Don't disagree with you. Pardoning all of them was completely the wrong thing to do.
