Out of 32 games against sides we played in the league both last season and this we have done the following:

Had a better result: 9 times
Had the same result: 11 times (not including winning or losing margins)
Had a worse result: 12 times

On the face of that, there hasn't been too much of a difference between the two seasons.

Of the 9 occasions we've had a better result, we've picked up 16 points. We've turned 5 defeats into draws, 1 draw into a win and 3 defeats into wins.

Of the 12 occasions we've had a worse result, we've lost 23 points. We've turned 2 draws into defeats, 8 wins into draws and 2 wins into defeats.

We've had a greater fluctuation when you look at the promoted and relegated sides.

Last season we won 2 and lost 4 out of 6 games against the sides that went up. This season we've lost all 6 against last season's PL relegated sides.

Last season we won 4 and lost 2 to the sides that went down. This season we've won 2 and lost 3 against the sides that came up from League One.

So, of the 17 other sides in last and this season's Championship we're down by 7 points. Of the 6 promoted and relegated sides, we're down by 12 points.

Last season there were quite a few (without looking) games from losing positions that we turned into wins.
From memory we only managed that once this season (Norwich H).
This will be the only differential between Bulut and Riza seasons = relegation.
