    Going to be interesting today.

I live in the Forest of Dean, which is part of the Gloucestershire Council. We have 7 councillors, 4 Conservative, 1 Labour, 1 Liberal & 1 Green.

Gloucestershire has 52 Councillors with exactly half Conservative, 16 Libs, 4 Green, 4 Labour & 2 Independent

Having witnessed the early results, social media dominance (& exclusion) and polling opinion yesterday, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Conservatives wiped out by Reform both in the Forest & the County. I think they’ll be just short of a majority but will be the biggest party.

I'm not sure how well prepared Reform are to run a council dealing with local issues. I'm not sure they know either.

Well I was right in the Forest, Reform wiped out both Conservatives & Labour, gaining all their seats, leaving both with 0. Green & Lib Dem’s held on to their single seats.

For Gloucestershire I got it totally wrong, Reform did gain 11 seats but the Lib Dems mopped up with 27 seats. Labour retained a single seat and got pushed back to 5th place.

    Times they are a changing!

I find it a tad hard to believe that one of the most experienced posters on here posted this thread on here in error.
When ever one of these threads rears its head on here, I feel that some of the usual contributors are busy getting their kicking boots on, to wade into any poster that dares to voice concern about the mass immigration that is occurring on this island of ours day after day.
I was born in Cardiff, and have lived in Cardiff all my life, and proud that I grew up in a multi cultural society. I am of mixed race, and havent got a racist bone in my body.
Whilst I am the type of person who will help as many people in trouble as I can, and share anything I have with those in need, I do draw the line, at the amount of illegal immigrant's entering the UK on a weekly basis. Does that make me racist in anyones eyes on here?
Imo, the reason the Reform party are experiencing a bit of success, is because there is no other party willing to represent the genuine concern of millions of natives of this island.
As a UK citizen born and bred here, and a contributer over the last 42 yrs of income tax and NI contributions, have I the right to voice my genuine concerns of whats going on here, without being accused of being an ignorant middle age/old age dinasaur/racist ?
Is it right that east European residents can arrive here and get reeled in by begging gangs, begging for money outside super markets?
Is it right that thousands of young foreign males can arrive here on small boats and claim asylum? Am I classed as a racist for voicing my concerns?
We all as humans, should have the ability to move around the globe, and settle where ever we want, but there has to be concerns, over the reasons why most foreigners involved in native wars and conflicts

Of course you have that right.

We need more honest discussion and more arguments - not less or fewer.

We also need more facts and myth busting and to get to a place where we are able to debate the reality of immigration - the good the bad and the ugly, the real costs and benefits, and the principles and values that lie behind all our views.

There will be major disagreements, but no one ultimately gains by shutting down or drowning out genuine concerns from any viewpoint. It is an issue that has dominated UK politics for 20 years, sometimes with denial, sometimes with lies.

Lets be fair here. We must all have a touch of lunacy to spend our hard earned season after season on the shite show that is Cardiff City.

What I find strange is that I can understand the issues you raise in urban areas, my sister in law lives in North Manchester and I feel very uncomfortable just being there, (people knock on her door daily offering stolen goods).

However, the Forest of Dean is a rural and somewhat isolated area, unaffected by immigration (except Bristolians looking for cheap housing!). Yet Reform have just totally wiped out both the Conservatives & Labour who ended up with zero seats.

In talking to my skittles team last night, the majority voted Reform based on immigration as the prime reason! “the Rumanians in the car wash and the Turkish kebab shop, barbers and tailor, which are a front for Syrian money laundering, because they’re all cash only”

You’d need a small bank loan for an ‘off the alley’ nowadays

As a former sticker upper and player myself, sticking up for the womens teams (ooh matron) was by far the better gig. Less skittles to stick back up, and always more sandwichs and pastys. Win win 😂

Don’t you dare barefacedly state that you never come off the alley to the strains of ‘You are my sunshine, my only sunshine’?

You’d have needed shin pads for the off the alleys if there wasn’t a gate though
