I wouldn't mind Wellens, he's done a very good job at Orient

    Re: Manager Linked -Richie Wellens

I would also consider Ian Evatt - I think his style of play would suit our players

I know nothing about Wellens, but remember those two brothers who did really well at Lincoln? I watched a video on their training methods at whatever club they went to after Lincoln, and they were both raving, seemed to be suffering from Coachingbadgeittis. Whatever happened to them?

Just missed out on a league 2 playoff spot with Colchester.

Theyre currently at Colchester. The Cowley brothers.

Seems an interesting one, something outside the box for us.

Im reading that list going f*ck no, not him all the way down.

I quite like Richie Wellens as an option, hes got a good personality, his sides are good to watch and he knows the muck & bullets of the division. He might bring Charlie Kelman with him!

    Gareth Southgate, 33-1

    Re: Manager Linked -Richie Wellens

Who was the last manager we hired when we had to pay compensation?

I just don't see it being anyone in employment.

Given the rate of sackings it's not such a big deal, more important is the recruitment process.

It just means we can probably rule out anyone in work.

Don't think you'd like their football.

"And the infrastructure to match"? All depends if you go by the dictionary definition of infrastructure or not. If you're talking bricks and mortar then yes, but, if as I've seen occasionally, you're extending the definition to include personnel, then forget it.

Think Wellens would be an exciting and sensible appointment - the Cardiff factor might mean it would end up being too much of a challenge for him, but, given his managerial career so far, he'd be the first Cardiff manager in years that I'd be welcoming as a good choice at the time of his appointment.

It’s that baggage isn’t it. I know I couldn’t do it. Throughout my working career, I had to be the decision maker, I couldn’t cope with bureaucracy and having to wait on people with limited knowledge of the situation. If you want me to do a job, give me the power & get out of my way!

One reason I'm not that against Ramsey getting the job is that I feel he would have the clout to tell Tan he needed promises that certain changes to Cardiff's "infrastructure' would be set in place or were going to be shortly before he accepted the job and he'd get what he wanted - I'd be surprised if someone like a Wellens would be able to do that though

that's interesting considering how he likes to play football

Wellens favours his teams to play attacking football, believing long ball and defensive minded football to not be suitable to long-term success. He cites former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson as a major influence on his approach. Using a preferred formation of 4-2-3-1, Wellens likes his teams to play out from the back and be patient, Wellens likes his player to maintain a high level of intensity, even during training sessions

If above is true basically carrying on what Bulut tried to adopt when he was here

I notice he was on the short list for Manager of the season for League 1 being pipped by Chris Davies
