Met him once in Finland. He was a great fella RIP

R.I.P. Joey, a Welsh legend
I'd seen Joey Jones speak a few times in football evenings and he always come across as self effacing, honest, humble and down to earth. He was a character though and had some great stories without ever really mentioning what he had achieved.
I can also remember him advising the organiser of one event not to pay a slightly inebriated Mickey Thomas any money until after they've spoken just in case he phucked off with the money prior to the show!
He had a few hours in the bar afterwards which was very decent of him as he was driving.
Didn't realise he had been ill. Probably one of the most recognisable Welsh football players when I was a kid.
Here's to you Joey Jones... *raises a glass*
