You have said from the beginning of when this story first appeared that you thought it was untrue, only to then create a thread on here about the subject and even make a post about it in your own blog.
The difference between most posters on these type of sites is that they all know it is usually speculation and rumours.
It seems as if this board has a few in house regulars who opinions are not to be questioned without consequences. This board is no different to the other board really is it.
Dalman is set to meet with fans before next week’s game, giving us a chance to hear the current situation from his perspective. It’s shaping up to be an interesting week.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a united fanbase where there’s clear, transparent communication and leadership for us to get behind.
It’s not really happened in my 30 years following the club, so can’t see it happening anytime soon.
At the moment it seems like a battle to be the first to release something or get the most likes and I’ve no time for it.
You’re doing the right thing Mike. Keep schtum until something concrete comes out.
The one thing I always trust in football is that you can't trust what a club chairman says! Some people seem to make it out it is a trait unique to Dalman, but it's part of the job to say what the shareholders want to hear, which isn't always exactly the same as reality...
Still will be interesting, just have your salt shaker ready.
You have to read between the lines; it’s difficult to take everything at face value from the so-called ITK fans or podcasters. The truth likely lies somewhere in the middle, but it often gets exaggerated by those seeking content or relevance.
It’s about time we heard something directly from the board. Of course, their message will be shaped to present a narrative that suits both their position and the club’s interests.
I'm not accusing anyone of lying. I just prefer to wait and see what things add up from different sources and all parties involved are partly dependent on what they are informed about by others and it's also understandable that some things are deliberately kept under wraps where business is concerned.
It is long past the time that the club should have said something.
But if the source for this is the same one that had Tan flying into the UK a week ago, said a deal had been done with Dalman over the Torman Finance debt, claimed that the South Africa Group had had talks and cleared checks with the EFL, the Welsh Government etc, and all the other invented cobblers, then I am not holding my breathe.
If anyone needs to speak to the fans it is Tan. Dalman is - or has made himself - semi detached.
Cardiff City Football Club has become a world leader in not communicating and not making decisions. It would be a major surprise if that changes in the next week.
The majority of football clubs are run by people who play their cards very close to their chests.
Our owner has over the years made things very difficult for himself publicly with the dreadful re-brand debacle, outbursts about goalkeepers not scoring enough goals and some of his job appointments etc. BUT he is still the owner, he has a huge financial interest in the club and despite what fans / supporters think he is not a fool and certainly not financially stupid.
If things are going to change they will change in the privacy of the boardroom, and for what it's worth I don't think any good come's of high profile people making public statements about deals worth huge amounts of money.
Fans can jump up and down, march until their feet ache and tap keyboards until the cows come home - it won't make any difference. Look at the Glazers Out campaign up in Manchester, how has that gone - the Glazers are still there! And the United fans are now complaining about the new "regime"!
It's not a football world it's a business world in the higher leagues, and us the customers have few choices pay up and attend matches or don't / buy merchandise or don't.
If anyone thinks Tan is worried what any of us think - I am afraid people are deluded. But he maybe fed up losing vast amounts of money keeping the club going.
All good Nat. What's said has been said. People are wiser now and can make their own minds up.
My point is that nothing good comes from anonymously taking personal pops at people whether on here or on other boards. If posters want to have personal digs at people then do it under your own name on a platform where you take responsibility for your own decisions.
There definitely is a meeting called for Saturday morning. Initial invites were sent out to the Chairs of CCSC,CCST,DSA and the FAB with a request to bring just one colleague from each along with them. I believe the club Chair, CEO and Steve Borley will be in attendance ( possibly with others from the club). There may also be a meeting with media representatives to follow.
Haven`t seen an agenda yet and there may not even be one sent out in advance but it should be (and definitely needs to be ) a full and frank update from the club on the current position re takeover interest and any other major developments in the pipeline.
The meeting is not in place of a periodic FAB meeting with the club. Mehmet Dalman isn`t the club`s appointed board representative at those meetings anyway, it is Steve Borley.
I can`t speak for the other elected fans groups but the Trust board has asked our membership secretary to notify all our members of the meeting and that should go out today if it hasn`t already.
