In an ideal world BBM could pick and choose his own squad and look for players with certain qualities and character, however he will be limited by the fact we have 3-4 older and presumably higher earners who we’d find hard to move out, Turnbull, Chambers and Willock fall into that category
You could also include Robinson there as well, although I’m not sure if he was carrying some sort of injury last season?
He’s lack of appearances suggest he’s either not in BBMs plan, or maybe he was used sparingly because of an underlying injury?

I think we need at least 5-6 players coming in personally
With the expectation of achieving what?

I’m going for 10th place which would be great.I think a lot of teams are going to try to bully us,if they succeed we’ll struggle if not we’ll thrive.
We definitely need a Sean Morrison type of CB.

I really don't know who i would move on. I've openly stated that i haven't seen much of City this season, and i think it's made even more difficult to pin point individuals after a season where nearly all of them (The established players who were relegated from the championship) performed well.

I sometimes think that i should try and be a little more optimistic (generally ) but i just have my doubts about these players. I'm talking the likes of Turnbull, Chambers, NG, and pretty much all of the players who have played a significant role over the past two or three seasons. There's around nine or ten who failed at Championship level, and for me, they played enough championship football for me to think that as a group of players they lack character and desire. I'm big on those things, they get teams over the line in my opinion.

Of that group, i wouldn't say any of them are poor footballers, one or two can play. Maybe all of the disruption of having poor managers and coaches over the past few seasons took a lot out of the more established group. There wasn't much continuity, players were held back in my opinion, they weren't allowed to express themselves, it looked to me that they had little belief. Barry Murphy looks like he's concentrated of those aspects of the game with these players, as well as offering up a style of play, some thinking, structure, and players seem to know what is expected of them with and without the ball, which is a good thing.

Sorry for the ramble, but i just can't switch off the past two seasons of championship football, even though i've given reasons why we looked poor. I just don't entirely trust the core group of players.

    The thread for manic depressives.

Back ups/challengers for Ng, Bagan and Salech, replacement for Wintle, upgrades on Chambers and Turnbull, Kellyman back, convert Kpakio into a winger.
If we can do that we'll be comfortable top half.

Kpakio as a winger seems a no brainer to me.

Good point about other teams trying to bully us. If I was an opposition coach that is what I would do when playing us.

Kpakio is too error-prone for the Championship, methinks.

It’s a good question, depending upon what plan there is for success
BBM’s stock is high and he will want to continue with the progression he’s made here, so I don’t think he’ll hang around if we’re going up just to make the numbers up and survival being the goal.

Success for me would be to establish ourselves as a solid Championship side in the top half

Success for the owners could be for a team challenging the top 8, which would make us a more attractive option to sell

As a going concern with a young squad challenging at the top, it’s bound to be more lucrative to sell on

Although I would have thought that the only way Tan is ever going to see his investment returned is by selling us as a Premier League club, but who knows?

We could do an Ipswich, with back to back promotion or we could be building up to that by laying the foundations and having a platform to build on With gradual improvement and progress being made over 2-3 years

In an ideal world that would be my preferred option, but with so many other factors potentially involved who knows?

What ever the plan is, we need upgrades on what we currently have, and that could be 3-4 loan players coming in, or a punt on a couple of players BBM has identified as being needed to improve the team

I think it will be an interesting summer
