Wales Online think along with Etien Velikonja and Filip Kiss the following players are the worst in City's history.

They seem to have forgotten we signed shit before 1997 as well. Do you agree? Or who else would you include. There are some stinkers in the list below but we signed some dross in the past as well.

Peter Zois (1997/98)
The goalkeeper was only brought in as cover, he had just one job to do, keep out Rotherham. He failed and was gone the next day. Legend indeed.

Jörn Schwinkendorf (1999-00)
He stood at 6ft 5ins, but when he jumped to head the ball that somehow decreased to 3ft 2ins. Put it this way, when the highlight of your time at a club is once hitting the post, you know things are bad.

Zhiyi Fan (2002/03)
Signed from Shanghai International for free in 2002, he became the first ever Chinese player to wear the Cardiff shirt and after witnessing him in action Bluebirds fans were left hoping he might be the last.

Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu (2006)
His name is one of the highest scores you can get in Scrabble. The striker failed to find the net for the Bluebirds although after just 11 appearances he did find the exit.

Andrea Ferretti (2005/06)
Italy has produced some amazing strikers down the years, but this guy was not one of them. He came on the recommendation of Sir Alex Ferguson, but so did David Moyes.

Toni Koskela (2005-06)
The well-built midfielder spent a year with the Bluebirds, but not much of that actually on the pitch. He made three appearances, all from the bench, although one of those was at Arsenal in the FA Cup. Cardiff still lost.

Iwan Redan (2006/7)
Legend has it Cardiff intercepted the striker at the airport to bring him in on loan, many surmise they got the wrong man and it was actually just some innocent bloke heading off on holidays. Redan was coming off the back of controversy after allegedly head-butting a teammate at his Dutch club Willem II.

Thankfully, nothing like that happened at Cardiff, well, to be honest, very little happened at all. He made two substitute appearances in February 2007 at Coventry and West Brom and then he was gone, back to Willem II.

Luigi Glombard (2006/7)
Glombard was part of the France side which won the U-17s World Cup. But he failed to hit those heights at Cardiff. You can never forget it, Glombard’s brilliant ball through to Robert Earnshaw at Carrow Road. Brilliant apart from the fact ‘Earnie’ was playing for Norwich at the time.

Dimitrios Konstantopoulius (2008-9)
You had to love this guy, but only if your side was playing against Cardiff. The man known as ‘Agent Dimi’ managed to throw the ball into his own net at Wolves. Twice!

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie (2008/09)
The winger was a Ghanian international, but during his five appearances for Cardiff he really looked as if he had just come in following a spell at Roath Park Rangers.

Eddie Johnson (2008/09)
Two goals in 30 games said its own sad story for the extremely likeable striker. He scored the last ever goal under the floodlights at Ninian Park which made a change because his shots usually hit the floodlights.

Miguel Comminges (2008/09)
The guy was a Guadeloupe international, but, hey, who amongst us hasn’t been one of those? He started ten games for the Bluebirds during his time at the club, but no one ever got too excited.

Martin John (2010-11)
Martin John didn't make a league appearance for Cardiff City. If ever there was an international man of mystery then this full-back was it. Born in London to a Gambian father and a mother he described as Colombian, Bolivian and Swiss, John was the ultimate enigma.

At the age of five, John moved to Italy, then three years later to Canada. Look, there basically was hardly a national side in the world John did not qualify to play for which was just as well really as he barely featured for Cardiff.

His route to the Bluebirds was tortuous, but Dave Jones signed him in July 2010. He made his debut in a 4-1 League Cup win over Burton and then...zilch, zero, nada. He never played for Cardiff again. Sent out on loan to Newport, the last anyone heard of John he was on trial at Plymouth.

Solomon Taiwo (2009-12)
You only get an ooh with Taiwo! Except you don’t. Midfielder Taiwo played well against Cardiff for Dagenham & Redbridge in a League Cup tie in August, 2009, and then the Bluebirds signed him.

It was a move, with the advantage of hindsight, that really did not involve nearly enough research at all. Taiwo was at the club for three years, yep, you read that right, and in that time he made just two league starts.

Simon Lappin (2013-14)
The omens weren't great when Lappin was sent off in his first appearance for City while on loan in 2012. When he became a permanent signing the following year he never actually played at all before Sheffield United took him on loan. Lappin was never seen in a Cardiff shirt again.

Andreas Cornelius (2013-14)
Andreas Cornelius lasted just a few months as a Cardiff City player
When we are old and grey we will be able to sit our little grandson on our knee and say: “I saw Cornelius play for Cardiff my boy. And yes, he did cost £8m and, yes, he was rubbish.”
A disastrous signing who moved back to Copenhagen after one anonymous season.

Javi Guerra (2014/15)
Aged 31 he was given a three year contract by the Bluebirds having proved himself in Spain's La Liga. He ended up making three appearances off the bench before being sent to Malaga.

Magnus Wolff Eikrem (2014)
Once named in a Manchester United Champions League squad this fellow was more poodle than Wolff while at the Bluebirds. One of Solskjaer's Norwegian brigade he lasted from January to December making only six league appearances before Russell Slade terminated his contract.

Jo Inge Berget (2014-15)
Another attacking Norwegian midfielder thought by Solskjaer to be the answer. Guess what? He wasn't.

He got one start in the FA Cup in the defeat at Wigan in February, 2014 and came off the bench for ten minutes in his only taste of Premier League action during a humiliating 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Hull a week later. Berget made more of a success on a loan spell at Celtic, but is now almost back in Norway, at Malmo in Sweden.

Wilfried Zaha (2014)
Now here was the guy whose left wing trickery would rescue the Bluebirds from Premier League relegation when he joined in the 2014 January transfer window. Er, not quite. In 10 appearances he simply ran up blind alleys.
He has shown he wasn't a complete flash in the pan, though, after rediscovering his dynamism since returning to Crystal Palace from Manchester United.

Guido Burgstaller (2014-15)
Burgstaller really looked the part for Cardiff - on his debut at Carmarthen Town that is. After that he played 20 minutes in the Championship and a Capital One Cup game. Gone by the January...

Adam Le Fondre (2014-15)
Adam Le Fondre is one of a number of Cardiff City players who look devoid of confidenceAdam Le Fondre
He ran around, he gave his all but Le Fondre was missing one important ingredient for a striker - goals. He hit three in 21 appearances before Russell Slade set him to Bolton.
Spent the entirety of 2015/16 with Wolves where three goals in 26 appearances didn't convince them to take up the option of a permanent deal. He is now back with the Bluebirds though it remains to be seen whether he will be part of new boss Paul Trollope's plans.

Maxi Amondarain (2013-15)
When Malky Mackay brought Amondarain to the club in August 2013 not a lot was expected of him which proved to be just as well in retrospect.
The defender, who at least looked the part, never came closer to troubling the first team. Admittedly a youngster, he barely featured for the development side either. You could hardly call him a gamble as he was never really given any opportunity at all at the club.
