It’s not what I would ever want for this country and it’s certainly not what I’d ever want to experience, especially at my time of life. And I doubt any of you would either.
The top 1% of earners in this country pay roughly 28% of our taxes. Are they going to stick around if Madman McDonnell moves into no. 11? This country is one of the best in the world to live in, even with all our problems, that’s why people risk and lose their lives to get here to live and work. Corby and co would destroy it. They won’t get the chance, if the polls are correct, and I hope to God they are.
The ones that risk life & limb are being suckered in by unscrupulous bastards to work in slave like conditions, they’re unregistered, completely off the radar & working for a pittance & living in squalor I’d imagine. Cheap labour & inexpensive facilities & conditions has always appealed to a fair percentage of employers and seems to be quite widespread under Tory rule. With Brexit imminent, EU protection disappearing &, God forbid, another Tory government don’t rule out another influx of foreign labour with promises of streets paved with gold. I dread to think about the situation concerning workers rights, I hope I’m way off the mark but I foresee another ‘glut of labour, lack of work’ situation creeping in the unskilled, lower end of the scale jobs.
