Doesn't look like Sol will feature as a coach or ambassador for Cardiff.

Shame, but maybe understandable if Sol thinks he still has a season or two left in him as a player. I doubt he will find regular playing time in the Championship - but maybe a league One club if/when he has built up his fitness.

I was hoping he would stay at the CCS in some capacity (combined with TV punditry) but maybe that was not an attractive option. The club gave the impression that they would like to keep Sol around if something could be worked out - but never suggested there would be a continuing playing role. I guess the prospect of playing rather than any discussions about non-playing salary was the clincher.
