Re: Roma v Seville Europa Final

The referee booked so many players he had to go to the local shop at half time to get a new notebook

What a horrible man he is.
It's hard to believe that it was Bobby Robson who schooled him, he seems to have very few similar traits.

What a great role model for youngsters watching and reading this man's antics.

This bloke should not be allowed to get away with this kind of behaviour, on and off the pitch and UEFA should ban him and/or his team rather than simply imposing a fine.
Let's face it, the fines they dish out are peanuts to these billionaire owners and multi millionaire managers & players.

People like Mourinho are a big part of what is wrong with modern day football.

Agreed, only ever manages rich clubs and still plays anti football everywhere he goes. Seriously, I’d take Jones or Garcia down here before Mourinho..

Anthony Taylor and family attacked at airport.

Absolutely disgraceful, why would anyone want to be a referee?

Just saw this on the telly, unbelievable scenes. Airports are normally a bastion of high security and very low tolerance. A chair being thrown at him and his family amongst other abuse. Hard to fathom out some people’s behaviour, you’d like to think that there were multiple arrests and the idiots then having to struggle to find another mode of transport home after court appearances and gaol time.

              That's absolutely disgusting.

For those who actually watched the game, did he actually perform that badly?

I didn’t see a lot wrong. He gave Seville a penalty for an obvious dive and then retracted it. The behaviour of - mainly Roma - the players and bench throughout was despicable.

FIFA should take a stand and suspend Mourinho for a year for inciting that kind of reaction. Will they feck, but he’s gone from a quirky genius to an odious, bitter old kent.

He has a decent record of winning trophies but this will hurt him.
                    Bwtter a has-been than a never-will-be I suppose.

I thought that the officiating was excellent in extremely trying circumstances, even to the point of admitting to erroneously giving a penalty and overturning his own decision after reviewing on VAR.

I have never seen histrionics in the technical area like that before. It made the odious Arteta look well behaved.

I seriously have no idea what the fans are complaining about.

Roma have got form for this kind of thing

                        Cost Dundee United in 1984

Roma controversially defeated Dundee United in 1984 European Cup semi-final
Dino Viola, the Roma president, said the Dundee United players were on drugs
Claims that referee Michel Vautrot was bribed with £50,000 before second leg
Dundee United manager Jim McLean was the subject of physical threats

The irony of it all is that the Roma manager of the day, Nils Liedholm, was universally known in Italy as ‘Il Barone’ – the Baron – because of his supreme sophistication.

They can ban him for life as far as I’m concerned.

Roma coach Jose Mourinho is charged by Uefa for using insulting or abusive language against a match official at Wednesday's Europa League final.
