When did Boz Scaggs turn into Dennis Waterman
Great singer......not.
Paloma Faith just murdered 'River Deep, Mountain High', no restraint or subtlety at all, just bellowing. Horrendous.Originally Posted by cardiff55 wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 00:18
I still would thoughOriginally Posted by Rob Jenkins wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 00:23

Great to see Wilko Johnsson on stage again.
And Ronnie Spector still sounds pretty good considering she must be about 90. I love those Ronnette songs. Memories.

Killer Guitar from Wilko
Lee, John B and the Figure in top form too!
The highlight of the evening for me was the duet between William Bell and Joss Stone of 'Private Number'. Certainly brought back the memories of my youth. Not enough duets performed these days. I like duets I do.
Watching Jools Holland on NYE is a tradition in our house but, yet again, it was dire.
He used to have the likes of Madness or the Kaiser Chiefs to whip the crowd up and then there was always Al Murray & Ade Edmondson being pissed up and acting stupid.
Now all we get is Ruby fecking Turner every fecking year.
Mind you, I noticed Dawn French was still hanging around. I think someone locked her in the studio since last NYE and forgot to feed her.
One of the funkiest tunes you'll ever hear.Originally Posted by cardiff55 wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 00:18
The real thing that spoils the Jools Holland show for me is that it is NOT live. It's recorded weeks before. Watched Queen instead which deffo was live...
What did she open with?Originally Posted by Raiderbankk wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 11:03
Looks like she never bothered with cosmetic surgery, sorespect where it's due.Originally Posted by lordninian wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 00:48
Love that song and the original version features the late Jeff Porcaro, one of the greatest ever drummers.Originally Posted by EdinburghBlue wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 10:59

I don't mind watching the Colonel for a bit on NYE.
The line up in general was not my bag at all but you can't call Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini, Ellie Goulding etc a bad line up. There weren't many bigger performers in 2014 than the first two particularlyOriginally Posted by blueblade wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 10:54

Wasn't it awful, one of the worst live performances I've ever seen.Originally Posted by Rob Jenkins wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 00:23
Shame, she's better than that. A 'Stars in Their Eyes' Tina Turner.Originally Posted by the other bob wilson wrote on Thu, 01 January 2015 12:00
Is Jools Holland the answer in central midfield though.
