gypo`s scrapped it
What the hell is going on there at that club, the owners seem to be doing all the can to upset the fans apart from changing the colourOriginally Posted by Fatty Føggøn wrote on Wed, 29 April 2015 14:00
Wait til the Oyston's pretend their mother has had words and Blackpool fans pretend they weren't so bad really, just a bit misinformed.Originally Posted by ElyBlueAJ wrote on Wed, 29 April 2015 15:39
Just naivety really.Originally Posted by surge wrote on Wed, 29 April 2015 16:28
However Morty was a true hero who scored a hat trick in the famous " Mathews " final in 1953 and to remove the statue is a total and utter disgrace to his memory and the history of the club.Originally Posted by ElyBlueAJ wrote on Wed, 29 April 2015 15:39
It says that the Blackpool fans helped pay for the statue, how much did they pay? If it was 50% do the club have any right to remove it?
Not very sensitive to the feelings of the relatives of the Mortensens either.
Mortensen is a Blackpool ledgend, as is Stanley Mathews who I had coaching sessions with.
They are the heritage of the club, and shouldn't be messed with.
Scum. FA needs to get them out.
Not much chance of that isn't the prick on the FA comittee for deciding who is a fit and proper person?Originally Posted by Captain Hindsight wrote on Wed, 29 April 2015 19:43
Stop messing around and put the bloody thing back
Any chance they can also get that Gareth Edwards one out of the St David's Centre now?
And who can forget the Michael Jackson statue at Craven Cottage that was eventually removed?
it was in the wrong location. It should have been at West Ham, as he was always blowing bubbles.Originally Posted by Taunton Blue Genie wrote on Wed, 29 April 2015 23:43
Stan was capped for Wales once.
'Supporters had been planning to lay tributes to Mortensen during protests against the board this weekend as it marks the 62nd anniversary of the striker's hat-trick in the FA Cup final at Wembley'.
Unbelievable Jeff.
"Do you know how we are going to piss off our customers next? Take down the statue of one of the clubs legends."
Vincent Tan likes this.
Least Jimmy Armfield is still there, this morning anyway.
