The basic reasoning for this is that they can't raise NI, as they said they wouldn't, so will just invent another tax instead.

    Slimy lying c**ts.

    Great Britain you did this.

"Hollow tax promises undermine the state's ability to function and leave Britain few desirable options if the world does not turn out as we all hope. Politicians: please stop. "

Be nice to see Feedy and the Croes-master's take on the county being swindled again.

Very droll Gluey. A couple of points:

    1. This is not government policy

    2. Does it say anywhere that this will replace state benefits or is this more a top up model akin to private pensions topping up the state pension?

    3. If it was government policy I would oppose it.

    Hope this helps

I was using top up and pensions as an example. If it's a top up plan like pensions but existing benefits are untouched then I have no complaints, if it's a case of only getting benefits from private companies them I'm wholeheartedly againSt it.

Yes, it was mentioned a few times in that article, they seemed keen to emphasise the fact that it is not government policy ... yet!

You mean statutory sick pay remains the same, but you top up so that when you are sick, then you have that bit extra?
It's not their plan .. and it's not even his idea
