Rick Parfitt reported to have passed away in Spain.
2016 can feck right off.
Sorry for the double post.
RIP.
Fond memories of school discos in the late 70's.
My Mrs is in tears. So sad 2016 is a bad year.
Another sad 2016 departure, not a big Quo fan but do like some of their stuff. Quite spooky that I posted earlier about Big Country and Stuart Adamson and then came across this;

Damn you 2016. RIP Rick.
Very sad - he had heart probs a bit back, but he lived the life!
Quo in their early days were a great blues band.
He should be known as Rick VI and VII
RIP Mr P.
Wherever you rest, may you there find the 4th chord.
R.I.P Rick
Status Quo, Cardiff Castle, July '76, during the long hot summer of that year. Ably supported by Budgie, Curved Air, The Strawbs and Hawkwind.
One of the best gigs I've ever seen. And I've seen hundreds and hundreds over the years
"" theres another one gone, there's another one gone ,
another one bites the dust ""
RIP
That's a coincidence isn't it. Like you, I was never a big QUO fan, but they were huge in the 70s.
On the other hand, Big Country were perhaps my favourite band for a while around 1985.
Pop quiz was part of my Saturday night ritual in the 80's - it was the last thing I watched before I'd spend about seven hours on the piss which invariably ended up in Dorothy's. Can't remember a version with Chris Tarrant presenting though - judging by what was said about the Republic of Ireland and the World Cup, I'm guessing it was from 1994.
RIP.
RIP Rick, legend.
Hell of a shock.
RIP half of Status Quo.
Hated this band....But respect what they achieved
Down Down Deeper and Down....RIP Rick
Saw the Quo a fortnight ago, obvious minus Rick Parfitt due to his ill health. Very sad news.
These guys opened Live Aid in 1985.
At the time I thought WTF are these old feckers doing still rockin' at their age.
Not my cup of tea but still, they rocked the joint.
Saw them last year, with a fit Parfitt and they were absolutely fantastic, a whole 30+ years on from my original judgement!
So many songs which I wouldn't say shaped my childhood but certainly got me reminiscing some.
Another true legend of Rock gone and I'm sorry to say, many more to follow.
What a line up for 2016.
There's gonna be one great gig in the sky!
Me and my mates would sometimes hire Bumpers for a sixth form party and at some point would end up playing air guitar to down down literally banging our heads on the floor - we must've looked like a right bunch of dicks but happy memories.
