Brian Murphy starts in goal.
Murphy and Bennett start. Weird line up. Bennett as winger?
Murphy, Connolly, Morrison (C), Manga, Peltier, Gunnarsson, Ralls, Whittingham, Bennett, Hoilett & Zohore.
Amos not even on the bench
Huws and O'Keefe on the bench as well.
You're probably right but this means Whitts as left wing? We don't appear to have enough firepower on the pitch to worry them unless Zohore has suddenly turned into Maradona - which he hasn't.
Alternative is Bennett and Hoilett to provide the overlapping wing play with Whitts tucked in behind Zohore as the 10, and Gunnars and Ralls providing box-to-box support. Still doesn't sound strong enough but we'll find out soon enough...
no defenders other than keeper on the bench or do I have it wrong
Apart from Murphy and Zohore, I have no idea how that starting 11 will line up:
3 CBs or 2?
5/3-3/5-2? 4-4-2? 4-4-1-1? 5-1-4?
Peltier and Connolly in their wrong positions again?
Bennett at LB or LM?
As others have said it looks light on goal threats.
And we normally screw it up on Boxing Day.
All points to a fine away win and Warnock hailed as a tactical genius.
First 8 minutes flown by trying to fathom out line up .
Sounds like Hoilett is playing up front with Zohore.
We seem to be a bit below par at present but have had a few half chances. Game sounds a bit flat.
Pen - Whitts scores!
Whitts
Well done Whitts
Zohore powers through his man to get a 1 on 1 but the goalie anticipated the shot. Morrison also had the ball in the net but offside.
Still not dominating the match but Murphy doing Ok so far - touch wood!
HT 0-1 to Cardiff. We've had the better chances of the first half but the game sounds quite even. Without seeing it, sounds as if Zohore made himself a chance which he then missed 1 on 1. Ralls also sounds to have had a decent chance.
Almost guaranteed that Zohore's miss will prove costly at the end of the day...
O'Keefe on for Whitts at half-time. Whitts booked in first half and sounds like a tactical change to protect Whitts.
Sounds like we're playing 5-3-2. Not being outplayed at all despite Brentford trying to turn the screw. Peltier has hobbled off and is replaced by Pilks
O'Keefe has moved to RB in the 5. We're starting to get put under some pressure...
