Interesting that the Scandinavian countries make up the top 5. Must be doing something right in that region, and it's not because of the weather!!
UK way down in 19th, even Israel ranks higher and that place is pretty volatile!

Just some alternative facts for you
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...y_suicide_rate
List on Wikipedia, how accurate who knows but not so bad.
I think you've read one article from
2011
http://healthland.time.com/2011/04/2...suicide-rates/
But I can't find any stats to back up the claim that Scandinavian counties have the highest rates..
Was it www.urbanmyth.com?

Considering I am being asked to believe they are particulalrly happy chappies, I would expect to see them way down in the suicide charts , they are quite high up considering.
Norway and Denmark (top two in the happy list) are bottom half of the suicide list. Iceland 41, Switzerland 44 (not sure where number 42 has gone), Finland 26.
You'd have to assume that record keeping is not uniform in all those countries. And culturally (or perhaps religiously), there will be countries where having a death reported as suicide is a complete no-no. It can't be a coincidence that the bottom countries on the list are mainly Islamic.
And Syria is bottom, must be a very happy place to be
it cant be poland , lithuania , russia , pakistan , india , bulgaria , romania , because they are all over here.
