Thread: Voting

    Voting

Never voted before, so thought I'd give it a go this time. June 8th is it? Anyway, I don't know anything about politics. Only a bit about left wing right wing. So could anyone tell me which is the most right wing party? I'm looking for neo Nazi signs, white hoods, burning crosses, that kind of thing. Thanks in advance

Left wing = looking after the least well off.
Right wing = looking after the most well off.

    Hope that helps.

That's how Tories/Labour was explained to me by my parents when I was kid.

I've since learned that there's more grey area than that but essentially it's still a good guide.

It got a bit fudged over the Blair/Cameron years, but it's very much this now.

They don't help the worse affected, please don't think I'm saying that because I'm not, between the two of them they take everything, I can't be doing with any of them.

You can see it, I can see it, and yet the majority continue to believe there's real and fundamental differences between the major parties as they dutifully toddle off to polling stations to validate the process blissfully unaware (or willfully ignorant) of the evidence that they are voting for slightly different shades of the same thing.

Indeed, that's why I find it so tragic watching nice people arguing over this crap.

Don't worry, I'm sure the nice people find it tragic watching you nice people espousing your theories

It is pathetically desperate, the attempts to claim the Tories are racist party all of a sudden.

I've seen Labour voters with placards saying they must fight the tory racists.

    Bore off.

Really? There's been a racist element in the Tory party for as long as I've been allowed to vote. It's nothing new.

I think yourself and Mr Morgan might have had a point during the Blairite days but the two main parties are further apart in terms of policy now than they've been for donkeys' years. As are brexiters and remainers.
