Was looking into booking up a trip to Moldova early September for the Wales game. It seems a difficult place to get to, I see flights from Luton as the only direct flights for less than £300? Is this correct? Has anyone found a cheaper deal? Or know of an alternative route that's more affordable?
Thanks.
We're flying to Bucharest then doing the overnight sleeper train from there to Chisinau. Works out about £160 each including hotels.
I booked Gatwick - Kiev - Chisniau, out on Sunday & back on Wednesday. It cost about £220 each although it was booked in October.
Thanks guys, I'll check out these options this evening
The Apostle forum has some good info on there if you need
We're having a stopover in Poland on the Sunday night. Flying to Moldova on the Sunday morning and then flying from Moldova to Stansted direct on the Wednesday.
Nothing to write home about. But there again, I don't go to such places for conventional tourist purposes.
Macedonia was rather wacky though. It's a typical Balkan country but with a capital city that is stuffed with to the gunnels with statues and buildings 'on steroids'.
Just came back from Bosnia two weeks ago. Beautiful country living in the shadow of the war and, outside the town centres, the buildings everywhere are pock-marked with bullet holes.
Next stop is Azerbaijan in September - and backpacking into Georgia and Armenia. All three countries have areas 'off limits' i.e. occupied by hostile militia - so it could be fun.
Cheap flights are my specialise subject
