I'm on a fixed tariff with them until Oct.
Somehow, i thinkI'll be switching supplier after that.
SEARCH POSITIVE NEWS!!!!!
I switched from British Gas 3 years ago after yet another price hike & being told that I couldn"t get a better deal off them.
My new supplier saved me about 30% on gas & leccy costs.
Didn"t the govt say they were going to cap energy prices not long ago ?
12.5% is a big jump.
It goes without saying that the rest will follow suit.
Corbyn will sort it out though......
simple solution:

Tell your energy supplier to shove their price rises where the sun don't shine.
Collective buying is the way forward. I've been doing it for years. All you do is sign up and they do all the work. Piece of piss.
I currently pay £80 a month for gas and electric. Pretty impressive when you consider that I live with a woman who puts the heating on constant from September to March.
From the BBC in May http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-39852119
"Theresa May has denied that her plans for a cap on "rip-off" energy prices are a repeat of an old Labour policy derided by David Cameron as "Marxist".
The prime minister said 17m households would benefit by up to £100 from the cap on poor value standard variable tariffs."
""First of all, we are Conservatives. We believe in free markets and competition, but we want to see competition working....Under our cap prices will be able to come down.""
I switched t a company called Green Star Energy over 3 years ago after doing an online price comparison on either moneysaving supermartket or gocompare.
Their MD was on TV this year saying that smart meters were for the suppliers benefit only, that there was no way he would have one in his own home & they would resist rolling them out for as a long as possible.
Up till now they have never mentioned anything to me about having a smart meter
I think that their prices are still cheaper than the block buying deals such as the ones Martin Lewis does.
British gas were a nightmare to leave.
Firstly claiming that the final reading I supplied to them was incorrect (far to low) so sending a meter man out to read the meters & then insisting on sending out an engineer to check that I wasn"t fiddling the meters.
My readings were correct.
They then billed me at the end of the first quarter after I had left them.
Luckily I had cancelled my DD but still got a threatening letter off them stating that they had been unable to collect the money & that if I didn"t pay within so many days I would face being cut off.
Sh*t company !
Got a 2 year capped deal with Cooperative Energy a few months back.
British Gas. What a useless mob.
I left them a long time ago after they offered a deal, I signed up, and they found a way to just go back on it.
Always been robbing bastards.
Though the rest will take an opportunity to take the piss now.
Bring back the Electricity Board
Does anybody on here use any of the lesser known Energy Companies? I've just tried that MSE link and it estimates I could save a couple of hundred quid but I've not heard of any of the companies listed.
if the quality of the eletric will be maintaned then i am happy with the increase. I dont want cheap shit in my house.
Absolute disgrace to rip off the British public like this. Energy should be nationalised, so should transport.
capitalism.... *rolls eyes*
