Thread: Assuming Gunnars and Ralls to be fit who would you pick to play against Derby?

I think that we have 3 of the best center half's in the league and trying to fit them all in the team makes sense in one way but playing 3 at the back never seems to come off. The fact that we usually play 2 from 3 just makes our bench stronger. I loved Bamba at dm position but as pointed out on this board he said himself he couldn't do it every week. Reading between the lines of Warnock's comments Ralls is closest to fitness so expect him to start. I would be tempted to ask Big Sol to give it one more shift there though. Derby midfield is talented but pedestrian so I think Damour will start.

3 Put Bamba back and play Ralls, Darmour, Tomlin

My gut feeling he will go for option two and play Halford as the holding player.

    Any thoughts?
Maybe option 3? Depends how much Bamba has left in the tank.

Is Connely still injured? I presume he is. If so all the more reason for option 3.

Connelly was on the bench on Tuesday and can see him starting tomorrow if Peltier has a knock. I'd have my middle 3 of Bamba Ralls and Damour tomorrow with Tomlin and Halford coming on after about 70 mins.

Seeing how we have injuries etc in the middle i would put Pilkington on the bench. He is doing his bit with the under 23 team and has earned a chance.

Hadn't noticed Connelly was on the bench. Watched the game a bit pissed. Good news.

Agree. I won't be at all surprised to see him on the bench and possibly rewarded with some game time.
